Multi-site Collaborative Cancer Clinical Trials Groups

The Australian Government is supporting Australia’s capacity to develop industry-independent cancer clinical trial protocols. The following Multi-site Collaborative Cancer Clinical Trials Groups are currently funded by Cancer Australia:​

  • Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group
  • Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group
  • Australasian Lung Cancer Trials Group
  • Australian and New Zealand Children’s Haematology and Oncology Group
  • Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group
  • Australia and New Zealand Sarcoma Association
  • Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group   
  • Breast Cancer Trials
  • Cooperative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology
  • Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials Group
  • Primary Care Collaborative Cancer Clinical Trials Group
  • Psycho-Oncology Co-operative Research Group
  • Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group

The primary aim of the funding is to support the Groups to develop industry-independent cancer clinical trial protocols.  The broader program objectives are to:

  • Increase the number of cancer clinical trials conducted in Australia
  • Increase the participation in clinical trials by people affected by cancer
  • Increase the number of clinical sites actively participating in cancer clinical trials
  • Increase the involvement of policy makers, clinicians, researchers and consumers in the development of cancer clinical trials
  • Increase Australia’s Multi-site Collaborative Clinical Trials Group participation in national multi-group or international cancer clinical trials in Australia
